Youth Meeting

A Youth Meeting is for those aged 12+. They are shorter camps that enable CISVers to re-enforce values presented in CISV Programmes and to build skills in leadership and organisation.

This type of short camp is organized to provide an opportunity for young people to explore important intercultural issues and promote continued CISV participation at all ages!

The Youth Meeting evolved from local mini-camps arranged by many chapters as great weekend activities for past and future participants in other CISV programs. These proved so successful that their duration was increased during major school holidays. Finally, these camps became first national and then international, and their programme content was developed accordingly - until it evolved into the Youth Meeting that we now have today!

This type of short-term, regional theme camp is organized to provide an opportunity for young people to explore important intercultural issues and promote continued CISV participation. It reinforces values presented in the Other programmes, and builds skills in leadership and programme organization. The participants meet together for up to 24 days, often during winter break or over the summer.
